Workspace and Spaces

Workspace (organisation)

Your workspace is the organisation tied to your login: plan, trial state, and the set of Spaces you may manage. Some accounts only have grants on other people’s Spaces; the desk still needs a clear active Space for editor routes.

Billing and plan changes (where enabled) are usually under Billing in the shell (/dxp/billing, /dxp/billing/plans). Operators may start a personal trial workspace when the product allows it.

Spaces catalogue

Spaces → All (/dxp/spaces/all) lists every Space your account can reach as tiles or rows (exact layout may evolve). From here you:

  • Open a Space’s view or edit shell (/dxp/spaces/view?host=…, /dxp/spaces/edit?host=…).
  • See which hostnames are attached and whether the Space is archived or live.

Create → Spaces (/dxp/create/spaces) is another entry to browse Spaces in the Create context.

Workspace switcher (header)

The switcher in the desk header sets the active Space (and underlying core/database routing) for many Create and settings screens. Before editing pages or products, confirm the switcher shows the hostname you intend.

Library collections and tags are scoped to the active Space. File binaries may be shared across Spaces in the same workspace, but albums and tag filters in Library always refer to the Space currently selected in the switcher.

If you open a deep link (for example a page editor URL) for host A while the switcher is on host B, the desk may block the action or ask you to switch—this protects you from editing the wrong site.

New Space wizard

Create → New Space (/dxp/create/space-new) walks through naming, hostname, and DNS verification steps your operator configured. Until DNS and verification succeed, public routes may not resolve; you can still prepare content depending on policy.

Space settings

From a Space’s view screen, open Settings (/dxp/spaces/settings?host=…) to configure that destination:

  • Brand, Appearance (public theme and product page layout preset), Navigation, Footer
  • Modules — which desk areas (store, CRM, payments, …) are on for this Space
  • Permalinks — URL patterns for pages and posts
  • Regional — display timezone for admin dates (UK default GMT/BST); used when you enter scheduled sale prices on products

Staff, members, and audit

For a selected Space, your operator may expose:

  • Site staff — /dxp/sites/staff (who can administer the Space).
  • Members — /dxp/sites/members (end-user membership for member portals, where used).
  • Audit — /dxp/sites/audit (history of administrative actions).

Paths may keep the sites prefix for compatibility even when the shell labels them as Spaces.
